From West Yellowstone to West Thumb was a known route and then at West Thumb we headed South toward The Grand Tetons. It is a very enjoyable drive and we made a number of stops along the way ending up at Colter Village where our campground/RV park was located.
It was quite hazy and we found out that it was actually smoke from forest fires in Canada. There was around 100 fires in Alberta at the time and they later spread east as well. The smoke really affected New York and Washington DC.

We stayed in the RV park in the woods at Colter Bay for 2 nights and one full day. It was actually the first day of our trip that we didn't have anything pressing to do, so we really enjoyed having a nice relaxing day.
It is a big RV park with over 120 space, but you still really felt like you were in a quiet forest. There was everything from very small trailers to huge motorhomes probably costing close to a million dollars.
